Of course, Optiarc’s new drive can do more than read and write DVD’s. This tries to mimic the activities of a person loading these programs onto their own computer. The drive starts writing at 16x and jumps to 24x at about the 5 minute mark. If you do the math, this is a good two minutes slower than the DHA3H and more than four minutes slower than the drives from Samsung and LG. Nevertheless, its writing quality was quite good. Now with Driver Matic, a PC can have up to date drivers automatically.

Pptiarc looking at the screenshot below, you can see that the drive’s transfer speeds peaked at about 12x.
